Ross Campbell
Arrived at Dunfermline on 19th September 2008 on a one month loan from Hibernian. Made his Pars debut the next day coming on as sub versus Ross County and then he came off the bench the following week at Cappielow to score the equaliser two minutes from time.
Ross returned to Hibs at the end of his loan period and spent some time at Lee Makel's team IFK Oestersund in Sweden before returning to Scotland and in March 2010, earning a contract to the end of the 2009-10 season at Dunfermline. He was then released.
Ross was born in Edinburgh and grew up in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders. He attended Peebles High School before signing for Hibernian. He broke into the Hibs first team under the management of John Collins and he made his debut on 15 January 2007 in a 2-0 victory against Kilmarnock. Campbell went on to make 13 Hibs appearances, most of them from the bench.
The 22 year old favours the striking role but he can play on the right side of midfield as well. Capped at both U20 and U21 level for Scotland Campbell has scored a couple of goals for the U21's. He was a massive hit for the Scotland U20 side, scoring 5 goals in 9 games and also played at the 2007 U20 World Cup in Canada, scoring one goal, against Japan. Now he is to encounter his first taste of the SFL.
Following the arrival at Easter Road of Derek Riordan in a £400,000 move from Celtic, Campbell saw his chances of first team football slip, pushing him further down the pecking order behind Riordan, Steven Fletcher, Colin Nish and on loan Steven Pinau.
Total Pars appearances: 16, goals 2.
