Chris' first interest in football was developed at Abernethy Boys Club.  He joined Rangers at U13 level and although they deployed him at full back his preferred position is wide midfield.

He played there after joining Dunfermline at U16 level and has progressed through the youth system to the U19s where he featured a number of times while still U17.
