Rangers return to East End Park on Saturday for the lunchtime fixture. Back in September the Glasgow team inflicted a punishing 4-0 scoreline. The Pars solitary Premier League win from the twenty eight meetings in Fife is not a great record and in the 100 league games between the two, Rangers have won 76 to the Pars nine.

Last time Rangers went into an early lead through Carlos Bocanegra. Maurice Edu added to that in 17 minutes and two second half goals from Steven Naismith rounded off a miserable day for the Pars.  The only Pars win over Rangers at East End Park was on 14th December 2003 when a goal from Stevie Crawford and a Paolo Vanoli own goal gave the Pars a 2-0 win.

The return at Ibrox in December ended 2-1 to the home side but after Joe Cardle got a goal back Dunfermline turned up the pressure and gave Rangers an uncomfortable end to the game.  The last dozen league meetings between the two teams have seen eleven Dunfermline defeats and one draw six games back..

Rangers away form has slumped and they have lost three of their last five SPL matches.  As a consequence they now trail Celtic. The Pars urgently need league points and would dearly love to record a home win.

The Gers won 16 of their 19 away SPL matches last season.  Away from home they have only conceded six goals in 12 games. After losing just one league game last season, Dunfermline have still to register their first home win of the 2011-12 season.

Last time Rangers arrived at East End Park on the back of a Scottish Communities Cup defeat at Falkirk on the Wednesday night, this time Ally McCoist's team will be smarting from their William Hill Scottish Cup defeat at home to Dundee United last Sunday. This time they do not have the services of their top goalscorers Nikica Jelavik who has departed to Everton and Steven Naismith who is out injured.
