Andy Dowie

Squad No. 15
Contracted until 31st May 2012.
Debut: 18/08/09 v Queen of the South

Dunfermline Athletic were delighted to clinch the signing of Andy Dowie for the 2009-10 season on a two year deal.

Andy has previously played for Rangers, Partick Thistle, Stranraer and most recently Ross County.  The centre back made over 30 appearances for Ross County last season.

Having made his debut for Rangers (v Dunfermline) at just 18, Andy went on to play for Partick Thistle under Derek Whyte and Gerry Britton.  He followed that with a season at Stranraer in 2005-06.  His past experiences of playing at Stranraer and more recently Ross County brings a strong understanding to the back line.  Andy brings experience beyond his years having won 12 Scotland Under-21 caps in addition to his experience at club level.  At Ross County he won Second Division championship and Challenge Cup winners medals.
