Dunfermline signed Michal Hrivnak in July 2012 on a one year deal. The 6'3" goalkeeper impressed in the pre season friendly at Berwick and was signed three days later on the eve of the Ramsdens Cup tie against Forfar Athletic. Born in Rimavska Sobota in Slovakia, Michal spent last season at Serie B club Brescia where he was third choice keeper and his appearances appear to have been at reserve team level.

Loaned out in season 2011-12 to lower league cluc, Civatanovese,  Michal won international honours at U18 level. The 21 year old should be good back up for Paul Gallacher who has still to return to action following a shoulder injury sustained last December.
