The 27 year old who made over 270 appearances for Queen of the South during his eleven years with the Dumfries club joined the Pars for the 2011-12 season.
Born in Irvine and brought up in Cumnock in Ayrshire, Paul Burns attended St Josephs Academy in Kilmarnock. He played for a number of youth teams, including Ayr Valspar boys club side. It was whilst playing with them that he was spotted by Queen of the South and signed up in 2000 as a sixteen year old, he was promoted to the senior side on 17 June 2002. He made a total of 273 appearances (239 starts) for the club scoring 34 goals in the process.
