Alex Keddie's return to County
Wednesday, 15th Dec 2010"We had a good win on Saturday, unfortunately we didn't get the win on Tuesday night but Partick came here and played very well. They are a good team and I don't think anybody deserved to win."
Alex Keddie claims that when you are playing at home you are looking for maximum points:-
"We had a good win on Saturday, unfortunately we didn't get the win on Tuesday night but Partick came here and played very well. They are a good team and I don't think anybody deserved to win."
He was pleased to see the fixtures fulfilled adding "the pitch was great given the weather we have had with very bad snow and ice. It is not going to get any better between now and the end of the season."
The central defender felt that there wasn't much between his last two opponents, Queen of the South and Partick Thistle:-
"They are the same sort of teams; hard to play against. Partick did very well with the ball but it just break for us, we could have done better going forward. That's two clean sheets so that's my side of the bargain."
The success for the central defensive pairing of Keddie and Dowie is one that has worked before. Andy Dowie has played alongside Alex Keddie at their previous clubs - Stranraer and Ross County and before they became married men shared digs together .
"We know each other very well; whether that comes across on the park I don't know" said Alex. "He is a good player and it is easy to play with good players. We lived together as well and have a good personal relationship. We have four good centre halves at the club so you need to make sure that you are on the ball every time.
Alex experienced games piling up at Ross County last season and he admits it is better accumulating points rather than have points to play for:-
"Last season was very hard when you were playing sometimes three times in a week and had a cup final coming up. Falkirk and Raith have still got two games in hand but we picked up four points from a possible six. Hopefully that will put us in good stead for the rest of the season."
Keddie made 52 appearances for Ross County last season but on Saturday coming, his first return to Victoria Park since leaving, he doesn't know what kind of reception to expect. He joked:-
"I didn't get a very good one when I was playing there! I did well by them so hopefully they will do by me and give me a good one as a Dunfermline player."
Reminding us that Ross County are a good team and now have a new manager to impress, the 30 year old defender said:-
"There is no getting away from that, especially at home. We are a good team too and I don't think they will be looking forward to us coming there."
