"I think the linesman went to put his flag up for him and then realised that he wasn't going for the ball. He put it down and I took a touch and went through and finished.

Andy Kirk's winner at Livingston

Andy Kirk scored his eighth and ninth goals for Dunfermline against Livingston on Saturday. He was not entirely sure how his winning goal came about but he was very happy to take it and relieved to see the linesman keep his flag down:-

"I can't remember the build up, I ended up on the left and come in to meet it as the ball was coming back across. I kept myself in line to keep myself onside and when Steven Bell made the pass to me the gaffer was just inside me, he was offside so I think the linesman went to put his flag up for him and then realised that he wasn't going for the ball. He put it down and I took a touch and went through and finished.

"When the pass was on its way to me I could see straight across the line and thought he was going to put his flag up. You just play to the whistle, I played on and finished it before looking across to see him running back to the half way line. I thought well 'I'll take that!'"

Andy Kirk scorers v Livingston
Andy's first of the day

His 19th and 90th minute goals were crucial:-

"It was obviously nice to get the winning goal at the time we got it. Especially coming off the back of a couple of defeats, we are all delighted.

"My game is all about scoring goals, that's what the gaffer has brought me here to do. I haven't scored for the last three league games and you are always desperate as a striker to be on the scoresheet and was delighted to get two."

Naturally Andy was equally pleased that his striking partner Graham Bayne also found the net:-

"It's good for the Manager knowing his two strikers are scoring goals. Good for Graham to get another goal, he creates a lot of things for other people so I was delighted he got the header."

All this keeps the Manager in the dugout rather than on the park:-

"To be honest I think he would be happy enough with that if we were scoring goals. He is good player, he is experienced and he has been about and maybe a time will come when we will need him. It will be something to look forward to."

Andy must have been the only player too busy celebrating the win to realise that Clyde had held St Johnstone to a draw:-

"You concentrate on your own game and we are happy with the win but if results go our way in other games that's a bonus. There are a number of teams that could go on a bit of a run.

"It is a very tight league and we feel that we just haven't had a run of games that you could class as a winning streak - the most has been two. We would hope to put a nice run of wins together and stay in contention."
