David Graham Post Raith

Sunday, 24th Apr 2011

"We didn't turn up when we played Morton here the last time; we owe them one if you like but wee Moory will not be wanting parties ..

David Graham v Raith Rovers

David Graham praised his team mates for bouncing back from a goal down in the crucial Fife Derby on Easter Saturday:-

"We didn't let the heads go down, we worked hard and got our rewards. Martin (Hardie) is getting on a bit and we have to wrap him in cotton wool at times but if he keeps doing that you can wrap him in as much cotton wool as he likes.

"It was great to play at a full East End Park; it is the first time since I came here that it has been packed. When we played Celtic there was a lot of away support but for the town and supporters to turn out in those numbers is great. To show that backing to the boys spurs you on.

"The crowd were brilliant when we went 1-0 down, they stuck behind us and kept backing us and that gives you the adrenalin to push on. If they can be like that for the next two games they can be the twelfth man and help us for that final push."

His Manager told him that he should have been on the scoresheet as well after two good chances in the second half:-

"I think I just caught it too well, maybe if I'd sclaffed it it would have gone in but the boy McNeill has made a good save."

The Pars winger described the incident after the final whistle with Raith's Allan Walker as just "handbags".

"It was heat of the moment stuff. You don't want a bad ending to what was a good game with a good atmosphere. It happened but it is all forgotten about and we will move on."

David Graham v Raith Rovers

Davie does not think that Allan Moore's Morton will make it easy for Dunfermline to clinch promotion next Saturday:-

"Football has twists and turns but hopefully we can go down there and get the right result. We didn't turn up when we played Morton here the last time; we owe them one if you like but wee Moory will not be wanting parties or anything like that down there. They will be all out to make sure that they get the right result."

Davie has his fingers crossed that he can pick up his sixth championship medal if the Pars can finish the job:-

"We don't want to think about that though, we just want to think about Morton. We have to take the performance from the Raith game and build on that next week."

Morton v Dunfermline

Morton has not been a happy ground for Davie Graham in the past. He was forced off after 58 minutes in November and 64 the previous August.

"Thanks for reminding me! Hopefully I will not get injured or need any operations after it. If selected I will give my all for the team and hopefully come away with a victory."
