Davie Graham Post Morton

"It was good to have another say in a decider today. I was delighted for Dougal to get a goal as well but for the Club to get back in the Premier League is massive

Davie Graham celebrates his goal at Cappielow

After success at Gretna and Hamilton, David Graham has now won his third First Division championship. While still on the pitch at Cappielow he described how he was delighted for the Club and his team mates:-

"After the major high last week there was a fear that we might not do well against Morton since we have not done well against them this season. We started really well and that early goal just settled the nerves. They had a ten minutes spell in the first half but after that we never looked like losing it."

Davie Graham shoots in number two

Dunfermline certainly did not look like losing the game after Davie's 51st minute goal:-

"I just cut in and hit it. It kind of got caught in the wind and sneaked in at the back post. Obviously I was delighted to get a goal after having a hand in wee James' (Grady) when I won the league with Gretna. It was good to have another say in a decider today. I was delighted for Dougal to get a goal as well but for the Club to get back in the Premier League is massive."

Davie Graham makes it 2-0

Davie's strike gave Dunfermline a cushion of comfort since Allan Moore wouldn't let his side lie down:-

"We knew Morton weren't going to sit back and let us see the game out. They came at us and our boys at the back were magnificent. Big Wally had a couple of good saves, it was a team performance and we did what was needed - a good professional job.

"After beating Raith a lot of people expected that was it done. That was disrespectful to Morton and also Falkirk. We knew that it wasn't finished and that we had to come here to get the result. You could see from the word go that we were up for it; we just wanted to put it to bed as early as possible."

How Dunfermline will do in the SPL is hard to predict, but as one of just six players whose contracts go on into next season Davie will be there to find out.

"You never know, you could go up and do really well or go up and do poorly. The gaffer will have a look at it. There are a lot of boys out of contract and he will see who he wants to keep and who he wants to bring in. Whoever he brings in needs to fit right in."

Davie sees no reason why the attacking McIntyre style cannot be used in the SPL:-

"We played that way against the bigger teams in the cup. It is harder to do it week in, week out - the one offs are easier - but the gaffer has a philosophy and that's the way he wants us to play. We have done it all season no matter who we have played against, we try and play football in the correct manner.

"I have been lucky enough to have played at East End when it has been a full house - but obviously full of Celtic fans. Last week for it to be full to the rafters pretty much with Dunfermline fans was brilliant. Then the great travelling support today - from the word go they were noisy and obviously well up for it as well so that kicks you on as well. You want to win it for them today."
