Drum pounds to beat off relegation

Into the battle captain boasts "We have a bunch of fighters and we will fight to the end."

Pars backs are up against the wall

Austin McCann insists that the Pars relegation battle is not over:-

"We will be well fired up for the game at Easter Road. It is one that we have all been looking forward to and we have to get a result. There is a lot at stake."

The Pars captain would be delighted to score the winning goal in Leith like he did in November on the Pars first away game against Hibs.

"I would take that again but to be honest I'd take anybody to score as long as we get a result. We have been there before and won the three points earlier in the season so it gives us a wee bit of confidence to take into the game.

Austin McCann celebrates goal

"We were happy with the clean sheet at Inverness but deeply disappointed not to nick it. With Hibs getting maximum points at Aberdeen, it was a good result for them and it puts us further back. Now we have to go fighting to Easter Road and try and make sure the battle goes on to the last game of the season"

With so much at stake, it is bound to be a nervy match both on and off the field.

"Maybe the fear factor fires you up a bit based on what happens if you don't get a result. The fans will be fired up too, as they have been all season. So hopefully we can get the result for them."

Austin McCann v Hibs

As the battle intensifies Austin confirmed that all the players had noticed the timely introduction of a drum in the Pars support and he gave that a big thumbs up.

"It is great that they are doing their best to help us and build up an atmosphere. We will be trying our best to put in the effort to win the game. The manager has emphasised that it is not over if we can go to Easter Road and get a result. It puts the pressure back on to Hibs who are away to Inverness when we are at home to Killie on the last day of the season. So it is all about Monday night.

"It would be a remarkable escape but it is possible. We have a bunch of fighters and we will fight to the end."
