27/12/08: "The boys just want to get out and get a win to rectify what has happened in the last few home games. It is disappointing to find out in the afternoon of the game that the game is off.

Following the 12.45pm postponement of the home match against Livingston, Jim McIntyre left his side training on the firm East End Park surface to go and watch another Irn Bru First Division match on Saturday afternoon. Assistant Manager Gerry McCabe talked exclusively to the official website:-

"We are very disappointed.  Obviously we are geared up for the day, all week the training has been good and we were just looking forward to it. We know it's another home game and the Manager has been on them all week that we must improve our home form.

"The boys just want to get out and get a win to rectify what has happened in the last few home games. It is disappointing to find out in the afternoon of the game that the game is off.  There's not much we can do about it.  It has been re-arranged for Tuesday and we need to be prepared for that now."

Gerry felt that the opposition will be just as keen as the Pars to get this match played:-

"They have been on a run, big Heggie has had two good results.  They were coming here full of confidence; they beat us here the last time and it was a result that we wanted to put right. It was an opportunity to reverse the result and at that same time, since we took four points out of the last two games, try and get on a run. We stressed to the players that we must try and get on a run.  The boys were looking forward to this one and were all geared up.

"You can't help the Scottish weather but the thing is that's two games that we have in hand now.  With other teams playing it is not a situation that you like to be in.  You like to have your points.  It is alright saying that you have games in hand but it is preferrable to have the points and keep the boys playing.

"Hopefully it goes ahead on Tuesday and we don't have to wait too long.  Both Managers have agreed on Tuesday, it is up to the SFL. I don't think there will be a problem, hopefully not and it will get one of the games out of the road."

The other outstanding match is away to Ross County:-

"The Manager tried to get that for this week, after it was initially called off but they didn't want to agree to that but wait until the middle of March.  Getting a crowd up there midweek might be difficult for them.

"We will keep ourselves focussed with a wee training session here and get rested up for Tuesday."
