Pars will be on the buses thanks to 1885 Business Club

The 1885 Dunfermline Athletic Business Club was formed in January of this year to engage the business community of West Fife and to create a networking group of business people and retired business people who have an affinity with Dunfermline Athletic.

It has also proved to be a very successful and engaging platform with three entertaining events taken place, which have already contributed much needed funds for our club.

The 1885 Business Club recently handed over a cheque to DAFC for £10,500 which will cover the cost of our club travelling to all away fixtures next year. 1885 Chairman, Garry Davidson and Vice Chairman, William O Braisby are pictured above with manager, Jim Jefferies on Saturday handing over the new sponsored team coach sign which will be proudly displayed at the front of the bus as it covers the country this season.

Garry Davidson, 1885 Chairman stated:-

"From our first meeting in February this year the business club has come a long way in a very short period of time and we are delighted that we can sponsor the teams travel costs for the season ahead, this is the first of many initiatives planned for this season. Our thanks must go to all of our members who have contributed and made this a possibility."

Ross McArthur, Director, himself a member of the 1885 Business Club stated:-

"I would like to thank Garry, William and the rest of the committee for their continued hard work in making the 1885 Club such a success to date and executing very high calibre events. Our club has a long way to go and we have to continue fund raising on so many different levels, particularly so in League 1, because of the infrastructure we are trying to retain for our future well-being. The 1885 Club has already played a significant part and the new season has not even started! Their initiative to cover the cost of the team bus was a fantastic and novel way of supporting our club."
