"It was a good chance, the ball never came down as quick as I would have liked. I don't know if the wee boy got back just to get a wee nick on it and that helped it on to the post but I think I should have slotted it in. I think the keeper has managed to make a good save from the rebound so fair play to him. It would have been a good birthday present but I don't usually get that far up the park I usually play the holding role in midfield.

"Phil McGuire came in and did that in the first half today and Gary Mason and I got asked to push further on in the park. It worked in the first half but in the second half Hibs came into the game. I thought we were the better team in the first half and Hibs had a few chances in the second half and were the better team in the second half.

"I think clear cut chances we had one or two more but the game was split in two I think. It couldn't have been more obvious that we were by far the better team in the first half and it looked as though we were maybe holding on in the second half but maybe if we had taken our chances in the first half that wouldn't have been the case.

"We have now got three very important games in ten days I think it is, Dundee Utd, the replay and then we've got St Mirren so important games for different reasons, but we just want to get on with it and hopefully give it our best. We know we have a few people suspended, a few people coming back from suspension so at least we have a good squad and if the manager needs to rotate then he's got these options."
