"I don't think we can have any complaint, we didn't deserve to lose but we didn't deserve to win either so I think a draw is a fair result."

Jim McIntyre felt it had been a hard earned point at Palmerston:-

"It was a battle and quite a cup tie type of game. I thought we started well in the first 10 minutes then went quite flat. It was a very heavy pitch out there today, I think that diminished the quality of the game."

Macca conceded that his team had to be satisfied with just the one point:-

"I don't think we can have any complaint, we didn't deserve to lose but we didn't deserve to win either so I think a draw is a fair result."

Of the suggestion that a place in the top four of the First Division would be important since it would mean entry into next season's Scottish Cup at one round later, the gaffer replied:-

"We have got plenty to play for, we have got boys out of contract and we wanted to play for the supporters who came down to Dumfries today. We have plenty to play for here and also we have our professional pride."

The match against the team immediately above Dunfermline was keenly contested and the home side pressed hard for a late winner:-

"They put us under a bit of pressure but that is what your goalie is there for. I thought the back four were excellent and defended the box well.

"We were coming here to try and win the game that is your aim, you try to win every game. It is a difficult place to come to, Queens are a good side and they are managed by a good manager.

"You look at each game on its merits. Every game I want the boys to go out there and show pride and grit. Obviously we are not playing for promotion, but there are contracts to be earned. Players have been first class under me and I can only praise them in terms of application and their attitude. OK we have maybe too many games, but that's games that we were losing by a lot of goals three months ago.

"Of course you have to look forward to next season, but obviously you want to finish as strongly as you can up the league."
