Josh sits out another Saturday

Saturday, 19th Jan 2013

"You think that you can probably sit through it but honestly when you are sitting in that stand it is the worst thing ever.

With the Central Park pitch causing the West Fife Derby to be frozen off, Josh Falkingham now faces a second week without a match. Last Saturday he sat out the home game against Airdrie United while serving a one match suspension for his six yellow cards and he did not enjoy having to watch from the stand:-

"You think that you can probably sit through it but honestly when you are sitting in that stand it is the worst thing ever. You are kicking every ball and just gutted that you are not out there. With the way the result went it was really disappointing for me that I couldn't do anything. Unfortunately it was one of our worst performances of the season."

Josh would claim that five out of his six yellow cards could be debatable but knows that he needs to address that side of his game:-

"My mouth has got me into trouble a couple of times and it is something that I probably have to learn. It is how I play sometimes, I like to be right in the middle of things and unfortunately that is what comes with it. Sometimes I get myself into trouble that I don't really need to be in."

That's not an easy thing for the Yorkshire terrier as he enjoys the frequency of derby matches in the First Division.

"They are ones that I love and it is good for the fans to get involved in Derby games and it rouses you up as a player but you have to be careful that you don't go too over the top. We have had a few red cards in the last couple of months and yellow cards will cause other players to get suspensions. We only have a small squad so we can't afford to be ruling ourselves out with silly suspensions like mine."

Josh has had very competitive duals with Cowdenbeath's Colin Cameron but ironically had the game gone ahead on Saturday then it would have been the player manager who would have been sidelined through suspension.
