Jim Leishman spoke to the media immediately after the Creditors Meeting had approved the administrator's CVA proposal. He started by praising the input of all the fans who had put in lots of time over the last four months to get to this stage:-

"It is a new era and quite emotional actually. To have been involved with this club for all those years, I have great memories when you think of all the people who have been here - Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, those in the halcyon times in the sixties and my time in the eighties was a great period of my life.

"I went outside today to speak to the young kids and I just want to give them some of the happiness that we shared in the past.

"Pars United are in control now, there are no obstacles in the way, that is all in the past now. Pars United have a clear way forward to prepare Dunfermline Athletic for a sustainable future.

"There are still bills to be paid, football players that were here are still due money and unfortunately lost their jobs because of the problems that we had. We have to pay the football debts in full so we are still looking for patrons to come forward.

"The supporters have been terrific to raise £115,000 from the supporters alone was a huge effort. All the people who invested just to pay the administrators so that we could get through this process was another great effort.

"The good things is that is all Dunfermline Athletic supporters who are behind us now. There are people still pledging money and we have to get a good business plan. We have to get the income greater than expenditure but it is great to be in this position.

"I would like to thank everybody who contributed in the first place and that's from the young kids pocket money, kids with their paper rounds, the senior citizens that have dipped into their funds to put in a fiver or a tenner, £50 or £100 and to the guys who have put in even more. Thanks to everybody, hopefully we can take it forward.

"We have a lot of good youngsters as you saw on Saturday in the second half, we have a good manager, a lot of good people here and hopefully we can combine our strengths. We have all got different strengths.

"People talk about community clubs but there is a difference. Every club is a community club but there are clubs in the community. We want to be a club thats going into the community - the schools and youth clubs, mini kickers, the dribblers and the soccer sevens. We want them to be proud of their team.

"We started off with a Steering Group and now we have an Interim Board. I think there will be a meeting on Thursday evening to see the way forward.

"Thanks to everyone who has got us so far."
