Despite its detractors, Dunfermline Athletic is going into the launch of their new share issue with high hopes that it will help to provide a long-term solution to the Club's current financial difficulties.

Bob Purvis, the Chairman of the Purvis Group, the Shirt Sponsors for a number of years at East End Park, is looking forward to the new share issue being launched by the club his company has invested in:

"We view the Club as an important asset in the community which is why we are committed to help ensure it continues to thrive. Two of the company's Directors have given a lot of their time recently to look at ways that can help the football club out of its present difficulties.This is a unique Business Model ready to be implemented which drives costs out and increases income substantially.

"The end result can only be positive if not unique in the East of Scotland. We hope that everyone will pull together and put their differences aside to support the impending share issue that will bring welcome financial support at what is a difficult time for us. We have had discussions with a potential sponsor who is prepared to invest a six-figure sum in Dunfermline Athletic and I wouldn't want them discouraged from committing this vital support by what we see as unhelpful and badly timed interventions by people opposed to the Share Issue. In addition to our own company's support we will also be encouraging other businesses to come out and add their weight to the campaign."

Ian Myles, Director of Rennie Homes, is one such company:

"I am a life-long supporter of the Pars and want future generations of kids to have the same experiences I've had over the years following the team, and I look forward to buying into the share issue once it's launched".

The theme of helping with the survival of Dunfermline Athletic was quoted by the owner of Hallmark Homes, Willie Hall, who is keen to invest in ensuring a local football team that he's supported for many years:

"I will definitely be purchasing shares once they become available. It's unthinkable that the Club won't be here for years to come and I'm happy to do my bit to help out," he said.

Mr Purvis went on to say that he will ensure that ordinary fans will get a say in the running of the Club:

"As news of the difficulties the Club were facing came to light in recent months, it has been heartening to see many individuals and companies making generous contributions to keeping the Pars going. I personally am pleased with the response we have had from grassroots supporters during the period we have been looking at ways to help out.

"The share issue from Dunfermline has been criticised in some quarters as somehow not giving these ordinary fans a stake in the club. Having studied the Shares Prospectus I'm convinced they will have a say, and both Gavin and I will ensure this does happen. I'm fully committed to the future organisation of Dunfermline Athletic and certain that it will represent the views of the fans. We believe that with their help we can move the Club on to a successful footing, and look forward to a stability that future generations of Dunfermline fans can enjoy."
