07/11/15: AJ :- "We know that we have to be more clinical like we were at the beginning of the season

Allan Johnston spoke after another match in which his previously free scoring team failed to score:-

"If you look at it they had chances as well, overall I think a draw was probably a fair result. We had shouts for a penalty, they had shouts for a penalty. Both sides had chances and how it finished with no goals I do not know."

It was the first back to back goalless matches since December 2006 against St Mirren and Dundee United. Allan Johnston continued:-

"It is frustrating but the thing is that we are creating chances. We know that we have to be more clinical like we were at the beginning of the season. We have just got to get back to taking our chances again."

Informed that Peterhead manager Jim McInally had claimed that his side should have won and that they should have had a penalty when Ben Richards-Everton impeded Rory McAllister, AJ said:-

"Of course he is going to say that but I think that you have to be realistic, both sides had chances, both sides worked the keeper. It was a fantastic save from the free kick. It was an incredible save and he had a great save up at Peterhead against us as well."

Peterhead keeper Graeme Smith played with Allan Johnston at Kilmarnock and he was mindful of that:-

"It has been an ex team mate of mine who has come back to haunt us I think."

With a crowd of just under 3000, the Pars manager praised the support that turned out on such a wet Saturday afternoon:-

"They are just desperate for us to do well. The support are getting right behind the team, the atmosphere was brilliant. That is what you want to play in as a player, it makes some difference.

"It is a long season and there is a long way to go and obviously we are still in the hunt to win the league."

Acknowledging that opposing teams appear to like coming to East End Park the Pars manager said:-

"It makes it a right game and a great atmosphere. It is much better as a player playing in that and we just have to have that wee bit of composure in the final third. Maybe sometimes we are just a little bit rash with some of our chances but we have been scoring a lot of goals so you cannot really complain too much but it is something that we definitely need to work on."

Peterhead did threaten at various times in the game and the Pars manager concluded that a draw was a fair result.
