Manager on Friday

Friday, 28th Jan 2011

28/01/11 JM: "We know their players and they know our players so it is all about whoever produces on the day."

After missing out on the fixture at Stirling last weekend due to a hard frost, Jim McIntyre is keen to get into the match at Partick Thistle on Saturday:-

"Both teams are evenly matched and they are a decent side. We always knew that they would start to get results after a sticky start because they have good experienced professionals mixed with a bit of youth in there as well now. Along with Dundee, they have been the form team in the league."

This will be the third time that the teams have met this season and Macca conceded that they know how each other play.

"They have changed their shape a few times but it is all about players at the end of the day. We know their players and they know our players so it is all about whoever produces on the day."

Saturday sees Jim McIntyre up against his old manager, Ian McCall and the younger will have the utmost respect for his old gaffer:-

"He is a very good manager; he knows his stuff and I really enjoyed working under him. He is good in the dressing room before the game; it was a happy time when I played under him."

Dunfermline will go to Firhill and try and take the game to them, Macca added "Hopefully we will take our chances."

Apart from injured duo Jack Ross and Steven Bell, Jim McIntyre has a full squad to pick from..

The Manager confirmed that former St Johnstone and Partick Thistle midfielder Martin Hardie had been given training facilities with the Pars and when quizzed if anyone would be arriving while the January transfer window was open he was his usual guarded self:-

"It doesn't necessarily need to be during the transfer window. There are other options."

Jim McIntyre acknowledged that physio Gerry Docherty would be leaving after the match against the Jags:-

"It is Gerry's last game; he has been fantastic since he came here, he is a top physio. We have really enjoyed working with each other; we are good friends so we will stay friends. Kenny Murray has come in; he is young, he is enthusiastic and I am really looking forward to working with him, he came across well in interviews."
