Managers Post Dundee

"He didn't motion towards him, he tried to get up because he was being held down. I thought he got that one wrong. He sent him off for an elbow and I'd like to see where the elbow came from.

Jim McIntyre at Dens Park

Jim McIntyre considered that his men were "magnificent" at Dens Park after being reduced to ten men after 44 minutes when Calum Woods was red carded:-

"Going down to ten men was totally unjustified. Yes, his head has caught the back of him when he went to get up but the boy (Eddie Malone) was trying to hold him down. I asked the referee to confirm what he had sent him off for and he said elbowing. I think everybody in the stadium could see that it was a clash of heads but it was the back of his head when he tried to stand up.

Calum Woods red card

"It was not the front of his head. He didn't motion towards him, he tried to get up because he was being held down. I thought he got that one wrong. He sent him off for an elbow and I'd like to see where the elbow came from. We will have a look on the video but I don't want to talk too much about the ref because I am so proud of the players - they were magnificent.

"They went out there and showed heart and the desire not to concede. We still tried to get forward and that is why I left two upfront."

The gaffer described Paul Gallacher's contribution as fantastic:-

"Paul Gallacher is a Premier League goalkeeper in my opinion. I was very surprised that I was lucky enough to be able to keep him and that Premier League teams weren't sniffing. He did his job today and pulled off some excellent saves but the whole team did well in the way they defended and got back behind the ball. Some of the blocks were really incredible. That never say die attitude got us the point."

The result did come at the expense of losing another player to injury:-

"Stephen Glass looks as if he has injured his groin by overstretching for the ball. We just cannot seem to get out the bit just now, we get people back and we lose another one of our key players. It is very very frustrating but we just need to get on with it, every team is the same."

Dundee Manager Alex Rae felt that the performance against Dunfermline was probably as good as they had played all season:-

"We created a barrow load of chances and I can only remember them having one shot from distance late on that went quite comfortably to Rab (Douglas). I have seen games like that before when its not your day - you hit the post, bodies are getting in front of you. I think the way we passed the ball was as good as we have done for a while.

"It was really good because you can end up panicking and firing big balls into the box. We worked around the back of them ever so well and on another day we might have been lucky and got the win we probably deserved. I am disappointed because we didn't get the three points."

The Dundee boss' view of the sending off?

"I thought the boy caught him with the back of his head; I think it was an easy decision for the referee to make. It was probably a bit petty from the boy - there was nothing in it really, a wee bit handbags."
