17/05/13: "The tie is by no means over; anyone who can write this side off is not in their right mind.

Neil McCann feels that last weekend's game was the most important game of the season for the Club up to that point, but the game on Sunday was always going to be huge now.  Speaking to the website he said:-

"The tie is by no means over; anyone who can write this side off is not in their right mind. The boys have been through so much, I have never seen them down on the training field at all. They were disappointed on Wednesday night but they will be up for the game on Sunday.

"We had a huge crowd there and the fans have been absolutely exceptional. When things are going against clubs that's when you find the real fans sticking together. They have been brilliant. Even against Forfar I did not hear too many moans and groans.

"Everybody knows that it is not these kids faults that we are in this position. To get to where we are, in a space of time with so many kids in the squad is fantastic."

Neil claimed that players feed off the fans enthusiasm.

"Not only does your own team feed from that but the opposition feel that as well. All of a sudden, if we get one then the noise levels go up, the belief gets up and hopefully the nerves go up in the Alloa side. They have come up the division this year and done a brilliant job to get to the play offs but if we give it our best shot, we have every chance of getting these goals back.

"I recorded the game and sat up late last night watching it. They had two chances - the young boy McCord had a header and a shot. Up until the opening goal from Tiffoney and even after that I still think we controlled the first half.

"We lost a goal right on half time so there was a lot of disappointment there. We gave away cheap goals but we didn't look a threat and it has not been often that you could say that. We have always had chances like we had against Airdrie, but not taken them.

" I really do believe that Sunday will be a totally different game. It is a different surface for a start. Out boys are used to playing on it, we had an unbelievable result at East End Park last week and that will still be inside the boys.

"The way I look at it, we were three down with 80 minutes to play. We have the bonus of ten minutes, so why can't we do it in 90. It will be difficult but I am convinced that we can achieve it through hard work.

"We had a good talk to the boys before training today. Saturday will be a light training session to make sure that they are rested up and prepared properly because we might need to go to extra time again. Hopefully we do it in ninety!"
