New DAFC General Manager appointed

Wednesday, 8th Jun 2016

Dunfermline Athletic Football Club (DAFC) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new General Manager, as work progresses off the park to take our club forward.

Pars fan, Michael Mlotkiewicz (29), who was born and bred in Dunfermline has taken on the new role.

New DAFC Chairman, Ross McArthur stated “as I intimated last week, I am delighted to announce the appointment of a new General Manager who will work closely with me, over the coming months, to take on many of the day to day management tasks that I currently undertake. Michael has already worked very closely with me over the last couple of years, behind the scenes at our club, so I know first-hand the talent, flair and initiative he possesses.

"It is important that our club now looks at a succession plan for the future and starts to re-build an effective management infrastructure. The role in question will also assist Michael develop wider skills which will benefit his own future career development. It is also significant to me that it demonstrates the unique nature of our community club, whereby a supporter steps forward to help our club on a voluntary basis, and can then be appointed into such a key role.”

For lifelong fan Michael, his new role is a dream come true. "The day Ross offered me the position, it was probably one of the best days of my life, as I like many others, live and breath this football club, so it's a massive honour. I've dreamt of working here my whole life, l just can't wait to get started.

"My aim is to continue improving all aspects of our club. From marketing to press and media, amongst managing the day-to-day tasks which are vital to run this club successfully. Our club has vastly improved in the last three years but we need to continue our recent success in order to get this club back to where it belongs."

Michael has spent the last six years working within the Marketing department at Fife College. He has played a key role in the football club's progress off the park, on a voluntary basis, since the Pars United takeover in 2013. Helping to overhaul the social and digital marketing at the club, improving the graphic design, launching marketing campaigns, becoming vice-chairman of the Centenary Club Lifeline to name just a few of his contributions!
