The DAFC Community Programme set to grow with new Manageress

Kelly Armstrong Web

The Pars are looking to build on their existing community programme with the appointment of their new Community Manager, Kelly Armstrong.

Kelly who has worked with DAFC for over 3 years, and previously had been a community coach with Dunfermline High School was the most successful candidate seeing of a number of extremely well qualified candidates.

Jim Leishman speaking on behalf of the Community Programme commented:-
"We were impressed with the range of ideas Kelly has to build and grow our Community Programme. Kelly oversaw the introduction of our successful DAFC Dribblers programme which delivers coaching to children from 18 months to 3 years, has been actively growing our Girls Football Coaching programme and always receives excellent feedback from parents when delivering coaching to young children."

Kelly Armstrong, the DAFC's new Community Manager added:-
"I am delighted to have been accepted for the post having worked here for a number of years I can see the great potential we have in our community programme. My main goal is to continue the expanison of the community programme by growing the range of existing classes that is our Dribblers, Mini Kickers and Primary Soccer Schools and holiday coaching programmes but I also want to add initiatives such as Junior Supporters Club, re-introduce midnight league and Junior Leagues plus I have loads of other ideas to bring in eventually. I would be keen to hear from anyone looking to assist us with delivering coaching on a voluntary basis"

One of the main aims of the community programme is to get as many kids involved in Dunfermline Athletic as possible, and to help develop local talent, Kelly continued, "The community programme delivers a progression into our academy teams and then into our youth set-up, this is a vital way of identifying and developing local talent, helping the club as a whole in the future. Hopefully we'll get another few Nicky Phinns coming through the ranks in the future."

DAFC Community Programme delivers fun football coaching to over 700 children per week. It delivers DAFC Dribblers for children from 18 months to three years old, Mini Kickers for kids from 3 -5 and Primary Soccer Schools for 5 to 12 years old. The Community programme also delivers holiday coaching programmes and runs an academy development programme. Kelly is an ex-player of the DAFC Ladies team and is keen to extend girls football at DAFC, with the vision of a Girls academy.

Next week also sees the start of our Summer Football Programme when over 300 kids will be given expert coaching. Places are still available for the Summer Programme.
