Dunfermline's new physio is Kenny Murray; he joins after one year at Celtic  A footballer for 15 years with teams such as Rangers, Blackburn and Dundee amongst others without making it to the high spots, he embarked upon a Sports Therapist career after hanging up his boots.

When qualified he started his new occupation with some of the bigger junior sides in the West of Scotland. Hamilton Accies were his first senior club but on a part time basis but after 18 months Celtic approached him to work full time with the under 19s. A season later Dunfermline requested permission to speak to him and so he arrived at Dunfermline in January 2011. Kenny is delighted with the career step that sees him progress to first team level:-

"Dunfermline is a footballing town, great support, sleeping giants and I want to see them back in the SPL. I want to make a name for myself by coming here whereas I could easily have sat it out at Celtic. It would have been an easier ride; there is not much pressure on you at youth level in terms of getting you back for Saturday because although they want to win the league, financially there aren't many implications of not winning. Whereas here the support, the gaffer and the Chairman want to win every week because they want to get back into the SPL where the money is.

"I am really looking forward to it and it has been a whirlwind since arriving here. Gerry has been introducing me to people; consultants, suppliers, what the players are like. You need to get to know your players and know what they are like. Sometimes players can come in with a tight hamstring but that can be normal for them. It is just getting up to speed with that.

"Gerry has a wealth of experience; it has been good working with him, listening to some of the things he does and seeing how other physios work. It is not an exact science; everybody has got their own opinions.

"He is going up to the SPL and hopefully we can meet him next season." The new man confidently predicted, "we will be going up but he'll be hoping they stay up. It is up to them."

Kenny who arrives fresh from a fortnight long winter break with the Celtic Under 19s to Antalya in Turkey, described Dunfermline's facilities as 'absolutely fantastic':-

"It was one of the concerns coming, worrying about the facilities that you get at smaller clubs but between here and the naval base that they use they have everything that you would ever need as a physio. OK logistically speaking it is maybe not ideal that they are off site but you just have to work at it.  I am delighted with the facilities that I have got and I will be able to work with the players here to do a good job."

The youthful enthusiasm of Manager Jim McIntyre was a major attraction to Kenny:-

"He is one of the main reasons I came here; he is ambitious and I see myself in that same mindset. I am young and want to go to a higher level; as high as I possibly can at Dunfermline."
