Pars 16 year old keeper in U19 squad for Firhill

National youth teams coach Archie Knox has taken the unusual step of selecting two entirely different squads for two friendlies both against Iceland on 4th and 6th September, to assess the form of as many players as possible in advance of the UEFA Under 19 Championship qualifiers which Scotland will host in October.

The squad for the first match against Iceland, which is at Firhill on Monday 4 September with a 7.30 pm kick-off, is as follows:

Marco Andreoni, Dundee United
Paul Caddis, Celtic
Bryan Deasley, Dundee
Paul Emslie, Rangers
John Gibson, Dundee United
Darren McCormack, Hibernian
Kevin McDonald, Dundee
Fraser McLaren, Gretna
Jordan McMillan, Rangers
Alan Martin, Motherwell
Mark Millar, Celtic
Michael Paton, Aberdeen
Thomas Scobbie, Falkirk
Stephen Thomson, Blackburn Rovers
Blair Tolmie, Hibernian
Steven Weir, Livingston
Samuel Woods, Rangers

For the match two days later, at Firhill on Wednesday 6 September, kick-off 2.00 pm, the squad is:

Brian Allison, Falkirk
Scott Arfield, Falkirk
Andrew Bagshaw, Aberdeen
Iain Flanagan, Kilmarnock
David Gray, Manchester United
James Henry, Reading
Scott Laird, Plymouth Argyle
Steven Lennon, Rangers
Alan Lithgow, Heart of Midlothian
John McGoldrick, Partick Thistle
Christopher McGuire, Aberdeen
Sean Mackle, Heart of Midlothian
Scott Murray, Dundee
GREG PATERSON, Dunfermline Athletic
Alex Pearce, Reading
Andrew Shinnie, Rangers
Lewis Stevenson, Hibernian

Both matches are open to the fans who want to see the best of Scotland's new talent. Admission is £5 for adults, £2 for concessions.

In October, Scotland will host their UEFA Under 19 Championship first round qualifying group, with high hopes of emulating last season's youth heroes who reached the tournament final in Poland.

Scotland start against Bosnia-Herzegovina at Stirling on Thursday 5 October, then meet Estonia at Falkirk on Saturday, 7 October, and end with a game against Germany, also at Falkirk, on Tuesday, 10 October.]]>
