Season comes to an end as Dunfermline welcom

Kilmarnock v Dunfermline
Kids for a Quid at St Johnstone match

This the Pars 38th SPL fixture of the 2011-12 season and following defeat at Easter Road on Monday night, it will be the last for them at this level for at least 15 months.  Dunfermline failed to hit their targeted 11th place and now know that they will return to the First Division at the first opportunity.

The Scottish Communities League Cup holders, Kilmarnock are the visitors and following the Pars home win against Aberdeen on the last Saturday in April everybody at East End Park wants to see another win.  Manager Jim Jefferies has already said that he will give some of his younger and squad players a taste of SPL football as he tries to make up his mind on just who might be the most useful to him as he tries to emulate Inverness Caley Thistle`s success in bouncing straight back up.

Dunfermline v Kilmarnock

Over the last twelve meetings, Kilmarnock have had the upper hand winning seven of the contests. DA have managed to win only three with two games ending up all square.  Goals from Darren Young, Gary Mason and then Stevie Crawford six minutes from time secured the Pars last home win over their, Jim Jefferies led, Ayrshire opponents in September 2006. When the clubs met at Rugby Park in January the Fifers came away with an impressive 3-0 win and last time it was a 1-1 draw at East End.

The Rugby Park side has only won twice away from home in the five away days since they came to Dunfermline last. Killie have less away games in this SPL this season than Dunfermline but the Pars need to remember how they managed to win at home after a gap of 51 weeks.
