As Rory Loy returns to Rangers he thanks the Pars for the opportunity to play first team football

Rory Loy v Clyde

Rory Loy played his last game for Dunfermline against Clyde on Saturday but he claimed that his time in West Fife had been "an experience"

"The first 8 - 10 weeks I thought I was doing really well, in the team most weeks, performing well and scored a couple of goals as well.  Not always playing in the position I wanted but I feel I could have done a bit better, scored a few more goals if played up front on a regular basis but that's the way it goes if you go out on loan.  I fell out the team a bit which I was disappointed with.  I came into last week's game and thought I played really well, got a goal and played today.  Overall it's been pretty good.

"It's been worthwhile getting that competitive experience, obviously playing in the reserves with Rangers there is no competitiveness - it's more an individual level if you are happy with your performance.  Whereas if the team win and you are pushing for the league or a cup you are delighted regardless of how you played because you want to get to the next round or get the three points. It's different and it is obviously a learning curve for me to hopefully go back to Rangers first team.

Asked whether a few of the experienced players at East End Park had helped him.

"Glass is obviously a very good player and you learn things of them at training as well as speaking to them.Greg Shields is another one who was always encouraging you and speaking to you so it's been a great experience to be involved.  At Rangers you don't always get to train with them (experienced players) and you don't always get to learn off them, whereas here I was involved all the time.  I will definitely go back to Rangers a stronger player and pushing for a place in the first team squad hopefully.

Rory Loy v Clyde

"You never want to play in the reserves regardless of which club you are at, and when you get a taste of what it is like to play for Rangers first team early in the season it makes you hungry for more.  I felt coming out on loan would give me regular first team football and prepare me for next season so hopefully I can go out and do the business for Rangers next season.

"I've worked under a quite few managers and coaches because I have played for a few different clubs albeit at a younger age.  McIntyre is the first really young manager I have worked under so he understands what its like still to be playing, what the First Division is like these days so he can understand and relate to the game as well as advise you.  It's been a good learning curve and just to thank him for bringing me out on loan and giving me that opportunity.

Rory Loy v Airdrie United

"The Manager is maybe not the same type of striker, I think he is more of a holding the ball in type of player, but he would have played alongside players like myself.  Everybody has really been great with me and I have enjoyed my time here.I would have liked to play a bit more but that's the way it goes.  I will definitely go back to Rangers a better player."
