"You have to fight your corner first and hopefully skill and endeavour will come through in the end but the way we have played the last two games is not acceptable for Dunfermline.

Scott's post mortem in post Morton agreed that it was going to be tough in Division One:-

"Yes, I said that before the Hamilton game. I have been there with Dunfermline, I have been there with Raith Rovers - on paper we are the best team but it doesn't work like that. In this division you just don't just turn up and win games. Unfortunately that has been proven again today.

"You have to fight your corner first and hopefully skill and endeavour will come through in the end but the way we have played the last two games is not acceptable for Dunfermline.

"They just sat in, made it hard for us to break them down. We had no creativity and didn't look as though we could break them down. It looked as though we were struggling and when they went 1-0 up I couldn't see us scoring. I have never felt like that before; I never thought once that we were going to create a goal."

Are the players too skilful and try to play too much football?

"You need those players, you need five, six or seven battlers and the other four have got to create something. If you can keep it at 0-0 when teams are sitting in and battle you are going to break them down somewhere but today we didn't look as though we were going to."

Is the absence of the likes of Adam Hammill and Jim O'Brien being felt seriously?

"We have signed Kevin Harper, we have Owen Morrison and other boys who can play there as well. We have a squad that I think are good enough to play in the SPL but unless we buck up or ideas we are going to be fighting relegation again. It has to stop now, start winning games and getting points on board.

"The gaffer had strong words for us and he is quite right. The fans were quite right as well. We need to start winning games; winning is a habit, losing is a habit unfortunately we are in the habit of losing just now. We need to change that around and we need to do it quick."
