"It was a bad start after what has been happening recently, but we just had to pick ourselves up and get on with it."

"We pushed on; we wanted to win it for ourselves and for the fans. It has been a difficult time at Dunfermline and we threw men forward trying to get the victory today, but it wasn't to be."

Scott commented on the early goal that his team conceded:-

"It was just a ball over the top and I maybe connected with it too well, Gall said it was a bit too hard for him.  It could have happened to anybody.  It was a bad start after what has been happening recently, but we just had to pick ourselves up and get on with it."

The future is what is important now to the Pars Captain and his team and he felt that they had enough chances in the game to win it: -

"Overall I thought we were the stronger team and deserved a victory.  It is not going to come right away, it's going to take time and I know everybody is saying we haven't got time.

We had our chances, Burchy was through on the goalie, Hammy had one at the end but we just need to keep battling.  Nobody said it was going to be easy, everybody said today usually when there is a change of management the team wins on a Saturday, we weren't believing that - we knew it was going to be a hard game today.

"We have a lot of catching up to do and a lot of work that needs done on the squad.  We need time to do that. There are loads of things that haven't been right this season.Everyone has got their opinions on where Dunfermline should be, who should be out the door, who should be kept in a job, and that's up to everybody else.

"As a squad we have got to get ourselves playing the kind of football the fans want to see and the kind of football that we want to play.It is not going to come right away."

Asked what was the players reaction to Stephen Kenny's sacking on Tuesday, Scott replied:-

"It was a shock when it happened. It could have come any day with the results that we have had, but it never happened and when it did happen it was a bit of a shock.I have seen it before, I have seen Managers come and go - it is a ruthless game management, it is a results driven business and as players we come under that category as well, but not so much as management.

"At the end of the season it we are in a bad position and haven't performed then no-one can argue then if the Chairman says well it is time for you to move on.

"I am not going to talk about what was happening in the dressing room.  We have had our meeting and we have discussed it.Its better left alone and better left to die.Let's get on and look to the future now at Dunfermline.I don't want to talk about the past, let's look to the future."

Following the Chairman's comments referring to the 17 or 18 players who will be out of contract at the end of the season, the Pars captain said:-

"Everyone was determined to going right back up but we have given ourselves a mountain to climb and at the minute we are not even looking at that.We are looking at playing well on a Saturday and winning.

"I felt we played well today, well enough to win today, but it has never happened. At the minute we are just taking every game, game by game and see where we end up at the end of the season.

"You are talking about guys being out of contract, but it doesn't really matter whether you are on a contract or not, if at the end of the season then if the Club wants you to move on then what options have you got?"
