Travel, Parking and Turnstile Information - updated 25th Dec
Friday, 24th Dec 2010After a meeting with Fife Police DAFC would like to announce cash gates will be open! Food Kiosks will be closed at Sundays game
After further discussions with Fife Police, Dunfermline Athletic Football Club would like to update all supporters travelling to Sunday's home match versus Falkirk. DAFC would like to inform fans that due to burst pipes NO food kiosks will be open at East End Park at the game on Sunday 26th Dec - we would like to apologise for this inconvenience
The Club have been granted permission to open 6 cash gates on the day of the match. The gates which will be open are as follows: Norrie McCathie turnstiles 1, 2, and 3, Main Stand turnstiles J and K, and the East Stand for Away support turnstile 15.
The remainder of the gates will be for Season Tickets and Tickets.
DAFC would like to urge all fans to arrive as early as possible on Sunday to ease congestion at the turnstiles and in car parks. Also please come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.
Due to the current weather conditions around the country at the moment street parking will once again be prohibited in the Halbeath Road, and Garvock Hill areas. However, DAFC have worked tirelessly to ensure alternative parking will be available. Car park spaces at East End Park will be at a premium and will be on a first come first served basis. Parking will once again be reduced from £2 per car to £1 in DAFC's Car Park.
NHS Fife and Queen Margaret Hospital have generously donated the use of Car Park 5, the lower car park, for use on Boxing Day as an extra car park, this being a 15-minute walk from the stadium. People parking in any other car park at the hospital will be asked to move. We would ask fans not to abuse this kind offer. The Vine Church car park is also available to use, along with Carnegie Conference Centre, both will open from 12.30pm.
All public car parks within the town centre are free to use on Sunday, these car parks range in distance of between a 15 and 20 minute walks.
Stagecoach and Fife Council are running a basic timetable for most buses, all information for the timetables can be found on www.stagecoachbus.com.
DAFC would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone who has volunteered to help clear the pitch, stands and surrounding areas of the stadium so DAFC could meet the safety requirements for this game.
Please plan you journey before leaving the house, check local travel and weather reports via local radio station, television and Internet. For travel update please check http://trafficscotland.org/, and weather update can be found on www.bbc.co.uk.
