Stirling University hosted the U19s on Friday afternoon as Dunfermline took on a Dundee United side fresh from knocking Rangers out of the SFA Youth Cup. Allan Smith returned but Shaun Byrne, Ross Drumond and Kerr Young had to watch from the sidelines as they would be travelling in the first team squad to St Mirren the next day.

United went ahead despite plenty of Pars pressure. It was their striker Jordan MOORE that made it 1-0 just two minutes from the interval. Blair Henderson hit the crossbar before inl the 72nd minute Dunfermline got their just rewards with Andy RITCHIE netting from outside the box.

Three minutes later Allan SMITH finished a cross from the left and in 89 minutes central defender Scott CAMPBELL headed home to make it 3-1. MOORE struck again for the Arabs in added time but the points were securely the Fifers.

Several Celtic spies (including former Par David Moss) watched as they tried to assess their forthcoming Scottish Youth Cup opponents and they probably noted that Hamish French`s young squad can be formidable opposition.
