The Under 19s kept up their impressive scoring rate to see off Morton. Having scored 16 goals in their last four matches, three more saw them smoothly through to the next round.

Steven Leslie opens the scoring

The match started with the home side in command but it was 17th minute before Steven Leslie came close from a Stefan Scougall ball in from the left.  Two minutes later the young striker opened the scoring.  Ryan Thomson forced his way through the centre, releasing a timely ball to LESLIE to his left who fired low into the far side of the net from the edge of the Morton box.

Jordan White headed a Rees Smith over the crossbar before Morton`s Jamie Docherty got a shot in from a Nathan Shepherd squared ball but that effort went high into the McCathie Stand.

The Pars defended a Morton corner on the half hour and MacDonald was sent on to a Blair McWhirter ball to deliver a cross.  White`s header won a corner but there was to be no further scoring in the first half.

Ryan THOMSON scored from a Scougall corner in the first minute of the second half when Leslie returned the ball into the six yard box.  MacDonald sent a 20 yard shot at an angle outside the left goalpost and then when he was stopped on the edge of the box, Aaron Scott dispatched a free kick over the crossbar.

Ryan Thomson scores

Leslie headed a MacDonald cross into the arms of Ryan McWilliams and the keeper who made his first team debut when the Pars played at Cappielow earlier this season showed class in turning a powerful 66th minute Scougall effort over his bar.

Six minutes later White got clear of his defender to shhot low towards the bottom right but McWilliams dived across to hold.  Ryan Thomson drove a 77th minute free kick on to the crossbar after Leslie was dumped on the edge of the box but LESLIE sealed the victory three minutes later when he was on the end of a White cross.
