MacDonald, Leslie (2) and Hackland score as Pars take points away from Stenny

Fathers day 2011

STENHOUSEMUIR 3 DUNFERMLINE 4

Stenhousemuir went in front on 12 minutes when a long ball cleared Blair McWhirter to reach the striker who took and touch and executed well. Dunfermline hit back with an equaliser eight minutes later, Chris Hacland hit a good ball to John MacDONALD to convert at the far post. The Pars lost Conor Schiavone through an injury to his wrist just before half time.

There was a good start to the second half for the Fifers with a penalty in 47 minutes. Hackland passed to Steven LESLIE and the striker was brought down in the box and he made it 2-1 from the spot.

Stenny equalised in 70 minutes when they completed a good move on the edge of the box with a shot that found the net The Fifers re-established their lead just two minutes later when a good run from HACKLAND ended with him poking the ball past the goalie.

Having gone ahead Dunfermline then conceded a goal from a penalty. A through ball down the middle brought out keeper Aaron Sommerville to try and deal with it but ended up bringing down his opponent. A yellow card but no red and back to 3-3.

Yet another penalty in 84th minute followed after a Pars corner where a Byrne shot from the edge of the box hit an opponent on the arm. A bit fortunate but Steven LESLIE grabbed the chance and the Pars were to travel back across the Kincardine Bridge with three more points.

Dunfermline`s win ensures that they stay above Stenhousemuir in fourth place behind Livingston, Raith and Falkirk.
