"It is great coming back, I always love it and great to hear the fans.

Stewart Petrie
joked as he left East End Park on Saturday:-

"We should have had a penalty, it was never a sending off and we should have won 5-1!"

The former Pars favourite who scored 57 goals for us in 296 appearances, is kept busy at the Highland club. He is the Ross County U19 coach during the week, he takes the U17s at the weekends and helps with the first team on match days. He commented on how things might not be as easy this season as it was last when the Dingwall club walked away with their league:-

"The league is obviously a lot more difficult than the Second Division was. It is a lot closer and you don't get the breaks. We are going to struggle at times but every team does and you need to take your chances when they come along. Today we started fabulously well for twenty minutes, Dunfermline hardly had a kick of the ball but Nipper pops up and scores a great free kick - that's what you are up against - better quality.

"The sending off took the wind out of our sails as well."

Stewart (38) could not help but notice the warm welcome he got at East End Park, after all it is very few opposing coaches who gets his name chanted by the Pars crowd:-

"It is great coming back, I always love it and great to hear the fans. Obviously we were just looking for Ross County to do well today, we could have done with a result but it was not to be. We will just pick ourselves up now for next week."
