DUNFERMLINE 2 FALKIRK 3
Dunfermline met Falkirk at Ainslie Park, Edinburgh on Monday lunchtime in the SPFL Development League. John Potter had at his disposal several first team squad members including Shaun Rooney, Ryan Wallace, Shaun Byrne and David Hopkirk. The Pars bench was pleased to welcome back Ryan Williamson who had been out since breaking his leg in August.
The 'home' team kicked off and Paul Joseph Crossan had an early chance that was blocked but in just the second minute the Pars opened the scoring. Jordan Orru got the ball on the left and passed to Hopkirk who put the ball through for Ryan WALLACE to shoot low into net, 1-0
Crossan won a fifth minute corner on right but Finlayson headed out and then at the other end O'Hara hit the crossbar for Falkirk. Hopkirk was next to threaten but the keeper came out to gather ball before he could reach it.
Crossan then supplied Trialist, but keeper was out to gather low and then Pars keeper Cammy Gill easily gathered a Hippolyte cross.
On the quarter hour Crossan set up a good chance from the left but when the ball came in there were no takers. Two minutes later a quickly taken free kick by Wallace caught Hopkirk offside. Next when Crossan was fouled at the stand touchline, Hopkirk sent in a cross that Morrison guided just wide of goal.
In 20 minutes Byrne was yellow carded and from the quickly taken free kick Reece Duncan headed clear. Pars broke on the counterattack with Wallace and Hopkirk but Falkirk tracked back and cleared. It was Duncan who headed away at a Falkirk corner then in 26 minutes a superb ball from Hopkirk picked out Wallace but his shot was blocked by PJ.
After good work by Hopkirk and Trialist, Horne was in position to shoot but his shot was blocked. The Trialist next won a corner on right that Wallace took but Falkirk head out and when Byrne passed the ball in again but a goalkick was given.
Falkirk then had another chance but the defence cleared. A 37th minute cross by Wallace into box was headed away for a corner that Falkirk duly cleared. Next minute there was a good chance for the Pars Trialist but he missed the opportunity.
The referee had words with Alan Maybury for a foul on PJ before in 41 minutes, Dunfermline scored a second goal. Again it was WALLACE who found the net with a well taken goal from just inside right side of box after fantastic play on left side where Byrne, Hopkirk and Horne were all involved.
In the final minute of the half Morrison and then Orru stopped danger from a Falkirk attack but at the break Dunfermline held a two goal lead and maybe should have been greater given the good performance.

There were no changes to either side as the Bairns got the second half underway but they were to get the reaction they were asked to find with a goal in just the second minute of the half. Gill punched ball Conor Langton's cross on to the crossbar and Kevin O'HARA netted just about on goal line. 2-1
As Falkirk pressed for an equaliser Gill blocked a shot from Hippolyte after impressive skill by the Falkirk player. The Pars were unlucky when Wallace produced a fine pass to Hopkirk but there was just a little too much weight on it.
Ryan Williamson made his return 62 minutes into the game and was soon involved clearing a short taken corner and launching himself on a trademark run and pass that Hopkirk was unable to control cross for a chance on goal.
Former Motherwell player Bob McHUGH scored an equaliser in 71 minutes when Hippolyte collected the ball on the left, evaded Williamson and delivered a low cross that was converted for 2-2.
Dunfermline tried hard to retrieve the situation. Wallace tried to play Crossan in but a defender cleared out for a throw in on right. A good run on left by Hopkirk set up Wallace but he was dispossessed before he could shoot. A Falkirk corner from the left was cleared by Rooney and then Thomas.
Crossan broke in 77 minutes but the ball got trapped in his feet before he could release ball to Wallace for a shot. Three minutes later there was another good ball in from Wallace but Falkirk cleared before Thomas could reach it. Crossan next released Byrne and he cut in from the left but Deniz saved down low. Six minutes remained when McClair run down right to feed the ball to Wallace but Falkirk managed to dispossess him.
The Bairns had been restricted to 79th minute shot that Rooney blocked for a corner and from that Johnson headed behind. It was a severe blow then when McHUGH scored for Falkirk in 90th minute from a low ball in from Mark Finlayson.
After three minutes of added time it finished 3-2 to the Bairns
