Dunfermline Athletic Football Club is delighted to hear the news that Dunfermline has been awarded City status.

Awarded by The Platinum Jubilee Civic Honours Competition, marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, it sees Dunfermline become Scotland’s eighth City.

Chairman and CEO David Cook commented: “We are all thrilled to hear that Dunfermline has been awarded City status and I would like to congratulate the team involved in submitting Dunfermline’s City status bid for their hard work and dedication following this morning’s fantastic announcement.

Dunfermline is an area rich in heritage and culture with so many passionate people. We are acutely aware of how supportive the community is and are eagerly looking forward to see what lies ahead for the City."
