Best medicine is Rovers return
Saturday, 17th Nov 2012Saturday cannot come fast enough for Josh Falkingham
Josh Falkingham 15 days into Movember!
Josh Falkingham may not have seen a razor blade for more than a fortnight but he claims that he is itching to have the edge over Raith Rovers when the teams meet for the second time this season on Saturday:-
"Its a massive game and we have been dying for the game since last Saturday. We could have played Sunday and if the gaffer had turned round and said the game was on Monday then we would have been desperate for it.
"We are itching to get back out there and put the things that we did last week behind us. We need to prove to people that we can win this league even though we got a bit of a battering last weekend."
Rarely stuck for an answer the 22 year old was at a loss to explain the poor performance at Partick.
"People question whether the preparations were wrong, was it what we were doing in training, did we feel it coming up? Were you not up for it? But if we go there and win 2-0 or even 1-0 nobody would ask those questions. For me I just think its a silly question because on the day they came out the box quicker, shocked us a little bit and even though we got it back to 1-1 and had a big chance in the game when Ryan went through, you might think that they would be on the back foot, especially at home in front of a big crowd.
"We gave away two sloppy goals that we probably shouldn't have conceded. That's where it went wrong - we conceded goals at the wrong time and never came back from it. It was nothing to do with preparation."
The trip to Starks Park is potentially the best medicine for Dunfermline. The atmosphere will be good and there will be no trouble motivating the players on either side. Josh scored against Raith on 1st September and he is looking for another good result against them:-
"We know what kind of game that you are going into - a massive one. If we ever needed a big game to get us up for after a tough loss, then it is perfect for us and has fallen at the right time. Raith probably will think that they are getting us at a good time because we are coming off a bad result but we are just dying to put things right. It couldn't be a better team to come up against and we are looking forward to it."

The diminutive midfielder is expecting a rousing welcome from the opposing fans and is thoroughly looking forward to it:-
"That comes with derby games and as long as you are not liked that is why you want to play in these games. A bit of stick from fans gives you the motivation and determination to go and put one past them and make it a bad day for them.
"They will have to open up, come out and it will be a different type of game. Hopefully we will get out of the box quicker, set the tone and dictate the game."
Josh is promising to curb his enthusiasm after coming close to an early red last time when he clattered Eddie Malone:-
"None of my family are coming up this time but following that tackle, they had their hands on their faces and were thinking 'oh no we have travelled all this way for 30 seconds'. That is how I play and I can't help myself from doing that - its what I am like. I don't want to take that out of my game but I need to be careful and cuter.
"There will be a fair few fiesty tackles with it being a derby, it will be a bit of a battle to begin with but hopefully we will win that battle and come five o'clock on Saturday we come away with the three points as well."
