"I think Dunfermline have a bright future. Since Jim McIntyre came in things have been looking much better and we definitely look capable of pushing for promotion next season.

Calum Woods signed an extension to his existing contract on St Patrick's Day and has admitted that he is delighted to be able to remain in Scotland:-

"I've just signed a new two-year deal and I'm really happy with it. Maybe if I hadn't got the new contract I would have had to think about going back down south but I really like it here so I'm delighted."

The Liverpudlian who celebrated his 21st last month, feels that he is at long last beginning to establish himself although he knows that with Greg Shields back from injury there will be increasing competition for places in the back four:-

"I reckon I've done alright this season and I have to push on from here. The two Gregs are great players but I've just got to keep playing well and try to stay in the team. The good thing is I can play other positions as well. I'm really looking forward to the Dundee game."

The match against the second placed team will be a keen contest, they usually are and there is an incentive for the Pars to overtake Queen of the South since the top four in the First Division would earn them a bye in the Scottish Cup next term. Calum is optimistic about the team's prospects:-

"We've been doing ok recently and though we're not looking to win the league now, the aim is to finish as high as possible. We're looking to build for next season and we want to win to give the fans some hope. We need them behind us. I think Dunfermline have a bright future. Since Jim McIntyre came in things have been looking much better and we definitely look capable of pushing for promotion next season.

"Dundee are a really strong team who are looking to go up. The games against them have been very difficult?they've been tough and there haven't been many goals in them. Their danger man is probably Kevin McDonald who has scored twice against us already this season, but they have a few good players who can give us problems."

Since Scott Morrison got off the mark last week at Dumfries scoring direct from a first half free kick, Calum with 40 Pars appearances, four more than Scott, is keen to break his duck too:-

"I'd like to get off the mark, I hit a 30-yard free kick against Livingston but the ref ordered a retake. These things happen, I suppose."
