Dunfermline Athletic will enter the competition at the Third Round stage

The SPFL are delighted to announce Thomas Tunnock Limited as the new title sponsor of the Challenge Cup, to be known as The Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup for season 2019/20.

Two rounds will have taken place before Dunfermline enter this season`s Challenge Cup. This means that the club`s first fixture in this competition will be in the last 32 to be held on the weekend of Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th September.

The last 32 will comprise of the following:-

All 10 clubs from the Ladbrokes Championship,
2 clubs from Northern Ireland Football League (Ballymena United & Glenavon),
2 clubs from the Welsh Premier League (The New Saints & Connah`s Quay Nomads),
2 clubs from the League of Ireland (Waterford & Bohemians),
2 clubs from English National League (Solihall Moors & Wrexham)
14 winners from Second Round.

Draw (pre-draw to determine which country will be allocated Pot A, Pot B, Pot C & Pot D to avoid cross border teams from the same nation playing each other. Pot E will have 24 Scottish teams)

Fourth Round featuring the 16 winners from the Third Round will take place on weekend of 12th & 13th October.

The First Round will feature 24 clubs:-

4 clubs from Scottish Highland Football League:-
Cove Rangers, Brora Rangers, Fraserburgh, Formartine United
4 clubs from Scottish Lowland League:-
East Kilbride, BSC Glasgow, Kelty Hearts, Spartans
4 clubs from Ladbrokes League Two
12 Colt teams from Ladbrokes Premiership

This draw will be regionalised and non Colt teams are seeded.

The Second Round will feature 28 clubs:-

6 clubs from Ladbrokes League Two
10 clubs from Ladbrokes League One
12 First Round winners

Draw will be regionalised (North & South) and unseeded.

The draw for the First Round and Second Round of the 2019/20 Challenge Cup was made on Wednesday 26 June.
