Callum Morris agrees contract extension that keeps him at Dunfermline until end of May 2014.

Callum Morris says that he is over the moon with the extension to his contract so soon after his arrival at East End Park. The deal for an additional year that keeps him at Dunfermline until the end of May 2014, was struck on the eve of the Falkirk match and came after only six starts. Speaking exclusively to the website the 22 year old central defender said:-

"I am very pleased and it just shows how well I have settled in which is a lot to do with how well the team is doing. Obviously the Manager, coaching staff and other people around the Club have shown faith in me. Hopefully this means that I can build on it and push forward with the team and hopefully get promotion.

"I am really enjoying it at Dunfermline and hopefully I can play with them in the SPL. The better I play the more it benefits me and the team. I want to keep playing well, enjoying my football and you never know what can happen."

The player who made five appearances for the Republic of Ireland at Under 21 level changed his international registration from the Republic  to Northern Ireland, from his maternal to paternal family side, is confident that he can make it back on to the international stage.

"I'd love to get back there, it would be brilliant. Now I have to step up to senior level but if I continue to play the way I have been playing, I think I can do it. If not I am just happy playing football and playing for Dunfermline has been brilliant so far and long may that continue,"

Callum Morris and Falkirk's Lyle Taylor

Callum felt that it had been good for the team to come back from 2-0 down to take a point away from the Falkirk Stadium. Naturally as a defender he was disappointed that they conceded two goals:-

"We didn't play as well as we can but to comeback shows how good a team we are. There was a great atmosphere and the fans were brilliant. We are pleased with the result and to be top of the league.

"It is not a bad way to go into the international break and hopefully after it we can push on again. It is not too negative; we shall see where the problems lie and rectify them."

CALLUM MORRIS AND LYLE TAYLOR

Both Falkirk goals were scored by Lyle Taylor but Callum felt that the goals came from the Pars lack of concentration rather than his good play.

"The back four and Gall have been brilliant so far and that was really uncharacteristic of how we have been playing. It is more disappointing for us as a team to concede goals but we have got a result away from home so hopefully we can get back to clean sheets."
