Falkingham is a fan supporter

"Confidence is sky high and the guys are absolutely flying in training."

JOSH FALKINGHAM

In the first two derbies that Josh Falkingham played in for the Club he certainly showed the great battling qualities that is expected of him. He scored a cracking goal at Cowdenbeath on the opening day of the season and against Raith Rovers it took him no time at all to engage with the 'enemy'. Now he is looking forward to yet another big day on the other side of the Kincardine Bridge

"I am new to the club but every game just seems to be big or a derby. Confidence is sky high and the guys are absolutely flying in training."

Josh wanted to stress the importance of the Pars support in these big games:-

"At every away game recently like at Hamilton they have given a big lift to the boys. Raith at home was big for them so we need to get the fans on side. If we can get the momentum from the fans it makes a massive difference."

Big derby games of the kind likely to be served up at the Falkirk Stadium are what every player loves to be involved in. Josh is promising to get stuck in:-

"If there is a bit of previous it is always good. I will have to be careful after the start to the Raith game because I could quite easily have been in the changing room early doors. I will watch myself but that is part of my game; there will be a few challenges on Saturday as well."

Thriving on derbies was something that Josh relished in his days at Arbroath where he faced Dundee, Montrose and Forfar.

"I have come into a club where there seems to be one derby after another. I do seem to score or get booked in them but as long as I can help the team to a win and three points that's the main thing."

In May 2010 Josh made his SPL debut for St Johnstone at the Falkirk Stadium. That was a 0-0 draw but the 22 year old midfielder is looking forward to returning there. He played down the risk of becoming too confident.

"As long as we are just confident in a good way. The team spirit is the confidence in our camp at the minute. We will not get too carried away and will not become an arrogant team. I am sure that the gaffer and the boys in there will never become like that."
