Farid only temporary out of order

"I like special goals but the keeper did well to turn it away for a corner

- - Listen to this Farid El Alagui interview

Farid El Alagui had an eventful afternoon at Ayr on Saturday after coming on towards the end of the first half to take the place of the injured Nicky Clark. Then when he went in for a 72nd minute free kick flighted into the Ayr box, he was knocked to the ground by the advancing keeper Greg Fleming. He claimed that he really did not remember what had happened.

"I don`t know who hit me, I don`t know if I was hit by a bus. I felt a bit dizzy and groggy. I think I had been unconscious for a few seconds but just came back to myself. I felt a bit out of order."

Farid received treatment and was able to come right back on. Within minutes he hit a good effort inches over the bar.

"I said to the ref, if I hadn`t had that knock I would have scored that! I felt a bit unlucky."

The 31 year old had come close to breaking the deadlock just a little earlier with an overhead kick would have been spectacular.

"I like special goals but the keeper did well to turn it away for a corner because it was going in to the bottom corner where it is hard to save. I was just a bit unlucky.

"Ayr is a tough place to come. I played against them when I was at Falkirk so I remember how tough it is to come here. We were strong in the game and just disappointed not to score a goal."

The French born striker came off the subs bench to score the winning goal the previous week in the match against St Mirren but he accepted that he was still a substitute for the game at Somerset Park:-

"I can`t how disappointed I was because as a player you always want to play from the start. When you don`t you still want to be part of it and come on. You just have to be ready when you come on.

"I definitely feel fitter every game now, I am feeling myself again, it is definitely the right place for me. After all the niggles and injuries I had before, I feel fine now and just want to carry on like that."
