"It was a nice goal for me to top off what I thought was a strong performance especially in the second half ..

Josh Falkingham enjoyed his return to Central Park even though the home support were ready and waiting for him. After taking their wrath for over 80 minutes, the diminutive midfielder silenced them with a fantastic goal from 30 yards out. He described scintillating strike:-

"I took it past somebody and I just thought, why not? Hit the target is what you try and do, I caught it sweet and it just went where I wanted it to. It was a nice goal for me to top off what I thought was a strong performance especially in the second half when I thought we dominated and got on top early doors. It was a nice way for me to make it 4-0.

"We expected it to be a tough game with it being a derby game and I had a couple of tough games here last season with Arbroath. I knew what to expect, a tight pitch and quite sticky; that didn't really help the game. It was always going to be a battle because that is what they were going to try and make it.

"We got our first goal at a great time, just before half time to go in with a 1-0 lead. It took a bit of pressure off and made it much more comfortable coming out in the second half knowing that we could go on and get a couple more. That is what we did.

"We started the second half like we talked in the dressing room at half time. We got the goals; Thommo obviously did well to get his two and we have started the season like we hoped we would."

The reason that 21 year old Josh was given such a roasting from the Central Park faithful was because they remembered the 'Yorkshire terrier' for his uncompromising tackles in the Division Two matches against Arbroath..

"I remember the game as well. It was a bit of a feisty game and I don't mind that. It all comes with that and I have to expect that with the way I play. As long as somebody doesn't like you, you are obviously doing something right. If I ever need to get up for a game, coming to a place like this where they are on my back straight away its all good for me. That's what I like.

"I am just delighted to get the goal and start my Dunfermline career off with a bang early on."
