Jim McIntyre Post Stirling

"Sometimes these things happen - you make substitutions and they have an immediate impact, luckily enough for us it worked tonight.

Pars boss Jim McIntyre thought that his team deserved the result and the first half penalty awarded against them was "very harsh":-

"If he is going to give that he has to give the other one at the opposite end. Scott Thomson said it hit his chest - it was nowhere near his arm. It hit the top part of his chest so we were really disappointed because I thought we started really well. After that it affected us a little bit."

The match seemed to change when Jim came on for Mark Burchill in 75th minute. He joked that he was a super sub when this was pointed out:-

"Sometimes these things happen - you make substitutions and they have an immediate impact, luckily enough for us it worked tonight.

"The game was kind of petering out. We played really well first half in spells and created good chances. As the game goes on in the second half you start to worry a wee bit but then we made the substitutions and that effectively changed the game."

The Manager was delighted to see Kevin Harper notch the three goals:-

"Fantastic, I thought he was excellent tonight. That is the Kevin Harper I know; going down the wing, getting the crosses in - very dynamic. I am delighted for him because he is a very good player and he has had a hard time from a section of the crowd. I hope that gives him a big lift."

Asked if he thought the supporters had been too negative, Macca replied:-

"Crowds are the same everywhere if things are not going well. For me the most pleasing thing is that we have started to create chances again which we haven't done for a couple of weeks. But we need the crowd to get behind us, we know it is a two way street and we have to produce to give them a lift. At times we need them to get behind us as well."
