John Potter

John was 31 when Jim McIntyre brought him back to East End Park for season 2011-12. The Manager said on signing him that he was really pleased to bring in someone with great experience and a proven Premier League player. John was captain of St Mirren for his last three seasons and he is a real leader on the park.

Jim Jefferies appointed him U20s coach for 2012-13 and enjoyed the flexibility to bring him into the first team squad as cover when required. The Dunfermline born player then moved on to Clyde where was he was an ever present in the first team and for 2004-05 made the captain. He joined St Mirren in July 2005, winning promotion in the first season there.

Went out on loan until the end of season 2011/12 to Queen of the South at the end of January 2012. Only goal for Dunfermline was on 26th February 2000 against Airdrieonions.

John was appointed Head Coach on 16/12/14 to perform the manager`s role with Neil McCann as his assistant. At the end of the season he returned to his coaching position and Allan Johnston and Sandy Clark came in as the new management team for 2015-2016.
