Monday, 20th Aug 2018New additions to Reserve Squad.
To provide further depth to our reserve team squad this season, Dunfermline Athletic have registered another two of the promising young players who made up the talented under 17’s Fife Elite Football Academy squad last season.
Local lads, Paul Brown and Lewis Sawers who are both 17 and midfielders, have now joined Stevie Crawford’s squad for the coming season after finalising the necessary paperwork at East End Park last week. It is the intention of both boys to continue their education and learning alongside their football career.
Paul and Lewis were part of the FEFA under 17 squad, under the leadership of Grant Petrie and Robert O’Neill.
Reserve Team Manager, Stevie Crawford “I look forward to working with Paul and Lewis this coming season, and to try and help them develop their talents and assist them develop as football players. Playing reserve team football against experienced players will go for them but at the same time, a big step up from under age games. I am sure they will both take it in their stride.”
Manager, Allan Johnston stated “I am also delighted for Paul and Lewis that we have managed to work out an arrangement whereby they can progress their football career but also continue their education which is important for all youngsters to do. I would like to thank Bill Hendry at FEFA for his help and support in this regard”
