Manager's Update

Tuesday, 5th Jun 2012

05/06/12: JJ - "Hopefully we will be in a position early next week to announce the games that we have got lined up.

JIM JEFFERIES

Jim Jefferies continues to be kept busy behind the scenes but has little fresh news to report at the moment:-

"Andy Dowie and I had an initial chat but I am not in the position at the moment to make him an offer good enough to keep him. I need to work on things to try and make that offer better. He understands what I am trying to do about that and once I know where I stand everything should fit into place."

The only other player still to meet up with the Manager is full back Jordan McMillan who is still on holiday but he has a contract until the end of next season.  Discussion are ongoing on trying to agree compensation packages with East Fife for Ryan Wallace and Arbroath for Josh Falkingham both of whom are known to be keen to join the Pars. Meanwhile the Manager is in discussion with another player where a compensation package would not be required.

Pre season friendlies are being lined up none of which will involve much travelling but Jim will be seeking to blend his new squad together before going into competitive matches. These friendlies have all yet to be agreed in writing and SFA approval granted. More news on these as soon as they are confirmed and the Manager added:-

"Hopefully we will be in a position early next week to announce the games that we have got lined up. It is important to have a few because it is going to be a fairly new side and we will have five or six friendlies. We will need a couple of games just to look at the players and then two or three games gelling before the season gets underway."
