06/11/09: "You always want to win a derby, so we're no different. We got turned over at our own place, but we played well that day, especially the second half.

Jim McIntyre is looking forward to the trip to play local rivals, Raith Rovers:-

"Very much so, big crowd, these are the type of games you want to play in.They are doing fantastically well, I think they have acquitted themselves really well since coming up.They are a good side, very well organised and they have players who are good at their jobs. It's going to be a very tough game, but derbies are all about winning the battles and hopefully your good players produce on the day."

The players look forward to a derby match just as much as the fans:-

"Definitely, of course they do.  They know how much is at stake in terms of bragging rights with fans.  You always want to win a derby, so we're no different.  We got turned over at our own place, but we played well that day, especially the second half.  Unforseen circumstances with a man getting sent off unjustly as well. It's a totally different game, a couple of months on."

A couple of months on and Dunfermline are undefeated in their last six games with the Manager feeling that they should have done even better:-

"We possibly should have had another couple of points out of those games as well.  The boys are in confident spirits, but each game is different.  You have to be at it from the start, making sure that you are doing things properly, working hard as a team and when you get your chances, you have to take them.

"It was the same when we weren't get results. The way the training is set up is for how we are going to play on a Saturday. You can't ask them to do something on a Saturday that they have not practiced during the week.  That's the way we like to play the game and our training revolves around that."

On the injury front Joe Cardle has a broken hand and will be out.  He will get an x ray next week but his hand is currently in a brace.Scott Muirhead is back in training but needs games.Stephen Glass is also not ready to return to the squad.
