Friday, 29th Jan 2010

29/01/10:- "Queens are a good side and they have been up near the top all year. They have good players and it will be a difficult game... we have good players too and so it will be up to us.

Jim McIntyre looked ahead to Saturday's match against third placed Queen of the South:-

"We have the better record at Palmerston and Queen of the South have the better record at East End Park, so hopefully tomorrow we can change that. It will be a difficult game; Queens are a good side and they have been up near the top all year. They have good players and it will be a difficult game.

"They have signed Leon Knight from Hamilton, he is very lively but we are the home team, we have good players too and so it will be up to us.

Macca revealed that Neil McGregor sustained a thigh injury at Ochilview on Tuesday night and joins Steven McDougall, Stephen Glass and Graham Bayne on the injured list.

The Manager was hoping to get news of international clearance that would allow Sam Morrow to play but didn't rule out the possibility of putting the boots on himself:-

"I enjoyed the outing at Dens Park, it was nice to come on just disappointing that we didn't get the result that we definitely deserved."

Jim McIntyre elaborated on the signing of Northern Ireland U21 international Sam Morrow:-

"He has shown up well in training and played a bounce match against Rangers. He is a decent player who we think can add to the squad; he is a different type of striker from what we have. Basically we have given him a platform and it is up to him to go and show that he should be here longer.

"He likes to shoot on sight and gives us a different option. He looks to link the play and has a good physique. We felt he could add something to the squad. I think he'll complement the strikers we already have here."

As Morrow appears to come in, it was farewell to Scott McBride today after signing release papers so that he can stay at Cowdenbeath where has been on loan for most of the season..

"We wish him well, he wants to continue playing first team football. He leaves with our best wishes. I didn't see come coming back and getting a game before our wide players and I didn't see him as a front man. So I felt it was best to let him move on, it would be more beneficial to him."
